NOTICE : Educational Institutions Operating from Malta and Related to Medical and/or Dental Studies

According to Maltese Law (Chapter 464), the Medical Council of Malta (MCM) is the competent authority that regulates the medical and dental professions in Malta, with the ultimate purpose of setting standards, self regulating and safeguarding patients' health and safety.

The MCM is the sole authorised body that is legally empowered to ensure that all graduates of educational institutions related to the medical or dental studies or practice in Malta are registrable. No university or college under the supervision of a university operating from Malta, can declare that its graduates will be registered in Malta or have equivalence to the degree listed in Annex V of the Professional Qualification Directive 2005/36/EC for Malta on successful completion of their studies, unless the MCM has adjudicated and finalised its decision process.

Students joining any medical or dental educational programme licenced in Malta, should, prior to embarking on such studies, check if the said course/s have been given certification of registration by the Medical Council Malta for their graduates on completion of the said course/s.
