Introduction

The Pharmaceutical Unit is a small unit within the office of the Director General (Public Health Regulation) which is responsible for the processing of requests for the​ use of unlicensed medicinal products as well for all the regulatory issues on the importation, exportation and use of narcotic and psychotropic drugs. It serves as the National focal point for communication with the International Narcotics Control Board, a UN body. It is under the direct responsibility of the Director General and works closely with the Medicines Authority and other units and departments in the other Divisions within the Ministry. It also works in close collaboration with the Customs Department and the Police.
